An insight into street photography.

Wow, this is a really in-depth thought process about street photography in this article written by Jill Corrall first appearing in Medium. Quite intriguing reading.

I’ve always felt uncomfortable about doing street photography so I admire photographers that can find a way of being comfortable with it, both in getting out there and taking the photos and also with using them later.

I’ve always struggled with the concept of privacy even in public places. Where people have the right to not have their photo taken even if they are walking down the street or hanging out in a public place. And the balance against that of capturing life in a documentary way, a way in which we capture human nature and personality and record it for now and the future.

What is your position on this?
